Arizona's real estate market was hit extremely hard by the recession.  As a welcome retirement spot and low cost of living state, investors along with out of state CASH buyers helped push home prices up artificially.  This prompted a real estate bubble that burst after 2007. It's important to learn that real estate prices are constantly in flux and Arizona's market is no exception. Since 2012 the real estate market has been on the upswing. Over a long enough period of time property values typically appreciate, and Tucson's market has jumped.
